Engagement or team health without delivery is just spiritual. ๐Ÿ™

We can't forget one or the other.

And the whole of agile and Scrum in particular was a focus on delivery.๐Ÿ“ฆ

How do we deliver?

We all came to the software industry, nobody forced us to, we have a passion ๐Ÿ’–, we have an excitment to build things that haven't been thought of yet.

And we finally live in an era, it's not like we can't build anything that's whether do we should build it.

And to do that we need to rapidly deliver and quickly pass to market.

2๏ธโƒฃ Passion ๐Ÿ’–

So we need to really make agile and scrum in particular more focused on delivery again.

How do we deliver to get feedback? How do we deliver to learn? How do we just deliver?

And from that, we want to work backwards, make sure people still have that passion and excitement.๐Ÿคฉ

They fall in love with the products they're creating ๐Ÿฅฐ, they're falling in love with the increments๐Ÿ˜ , they're falling in love with the customers they're serving๐Ÿ˜˜.

The problems are solving and creating new markets that never existed.

That's where team happiness comes and you need โ€ผ๏ธ the delivery along the baseline on that.

3๏ธโƒฃ DoD โ˜‘๏ธ

So we need to remember the importance of the definition of Done.

We're not forcing the team to do Done, we're getting them to show their pride. ๐Ÿ†

The definition of Done is their pride of craftmanship.๐Ÿ› ๏ธ

They're putting that definition of Done up to say: "๐‘‡โ„Ž๐‘–๐‘  ๐‘–๐‘  ๐‘กโ„Ž๐‘’ ๐‘ค๐‘Ž๐‘ฆ ๐‘ค๐‘’ ๐‘กโ„Ž๐‘–๐‘›๐‘˜ ๐‘กโ„Ž๐‘–๐‘›๐‘”๐‘  ๐‘Ž๐‘Ÿ๐‘’ ๐‘‘๐‘œ๐‘›๐‘’,

And when they have that, they have that rigor to not only build more things but to build it in a better way that's more robust and more complete so they can test things sooner.

And if you notice what I've been talking about, it's getting things sooner.

But without delivery, you don't have nothing.๐Ÿ’ฏ

4๏ธโƒฃ Delivery ๐Ÿ“ฆ

Without delivery, I don't think you can sustain happiness.

We all take pride in work well done.

We don't take pride in exercise this team-building alone.

All those are supplementary and nice but we take pride on what we do.

We don't go home and say 'Hey, we did a great team-building event where I fell and my teammates caught me'๐Ÿ˜„ everyday.

We get to go home and say I built this medical โš•๏ธ software that's giving vital data to the loved ones like a monitor of the people they love from around the world ๐ŸŒ.

We're creating a new way for them to pay for things that they used to not be able to.

We're serving different areas that maybe didn't have things banking, and ways to monitor health.

And now technology and mobile ๐Ÿ“ฑ devices are allowing us to have.

But the only way we have that outreach to change the world is to deliver.

We don't change โŒ the world by just pure happiness.

We change the world โœ… to be happy from delivering.
