TEAM THEORY: Use extrinsic and intrinsic motivation to keep team members satisfied with their job.

There are two types of motivation:
Extrinsic motivation and intrinsic motivation.

Extrinsic motivation comes from tangible rewards that are external to the work itself.
Examples are payments, bonuses and benefits such as phones or laptops.
These rewards are controlled by other people.

Intrinsic motivation relates to feelings of fulfillment, doing meaningful work and being good in your job.
Intrinsic motivation comes from inside a person and is not a management instrument.
Team leaders can support the intrinsic motivation of individual members (by facilitating learning activities or providing constructive feedback.)
