TEAM THEORY: Constructive feedback
=>Offer feedback on observed behavior, not on perceived attitudes.
·
Constructive feedback helps team members.
It is a way to let people know how effective they are.
It can be about positive or negative behavior.
Some guidelines:
- Consider the potential value of the feedback.
- Too much feedback can overload people.
- Control your emotions.
- Focus on behavior that is under the control of a person.
- Be descriptive rather than evaluative.
- Keep the message simple.
- Allow the receiver to reach his/her own conclusions.
