I did a personality test that said I have low success potential in stressful situation.

But that if I make an effort, it could be very fulfilling.

So here a description of the stress curve to understand how I should cope with stress.

 

1) ๐’๐“๐‘๐„๐’๐’ ๐ˆ๐’ ๐๐Ž๐“ ๐“๐‡๐€๐“ ๐๐€๐ƒ๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿค”

Stress is something we all basically deal with.

Generally, it gets some bad press.

We have a tendency to always think of stress and tension as negatives and something that's going to hurt us but not always.

 

2) ๐“๐‡๐„ ๐’๐“๐‘๐„๐’๐’ ๐‚๐”๐‘๐•๐„ ๐Ÿ“ˆ๐Ÿ“‰

Let's start by thinking of the stress curve.

It is called the Yorke's Dodson curve and it's fairly old.

It starts by thinking about the green area of the curve.

 

3) ๐†๐Ž๐Ž๐ƒ ๐’๐“๐‘๐„๐’๐’ ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ…

What happens is if we don't get any stress?

We're simply going to sleep through life.

So you want enough stress to create a challenge, to create excitement.

Such would overcome that under load and generate some action for you.

Typically we will see a good team performing at a poor level if they play against bad competition.

But you'll see such team rise to the occasion in front of a teamwith the right level, and that's what good stress is.

 

4) ๐Ž๐๐“๐ˆ๐Œ๐”๐Œ ๐’๐“๐‘๐„๐’๐’๐ŸŸข๐Ÿง 

It's about getting enough stress that gets the energy/adrenaline flowing and gets us moving in the right direction.

When we move along the stress curve, we look at optimum stress.

It gets us in that quote unquote zone where we get excited and performing well.

 

5) ๐ƒ๐’๐ˆ๐“๐‘๐„๐’๐’ โš ๏ธ๐Ÿง 

Then we start going to the negative side of the curve.

That is called distress.

We get exhausted, we get tired, we're overloaded.

We tend to burn out.

We get tired.

And here's when we get fatigue, exhaustion, and all those negative things that occur when we get too stressed.

Hence we're going to see a loss of control of our emotions.

We're going to be anxious.

We're going to be angry, people are going to set us off for just about no reason.

 

๐‘ถ๐’–๐’•๐’“๐’

So what this test meant is that I perform under my optimum stress level.

And if I accept to go closer to my optimum stress level, I will reach higher fulfillment.
