The Sprint is one of the five 5๏ธโฃ Scrum events.
This is the event that people often forget about because it is a container ๐ฆevent.
This container holds the space for all of the work to create the shippable Increment of product, and it is limited to one month or less in duration.
This container starts with Sprint Planning ๐บ๏ธ and ends with the Sprint Retrospective ๐บ.
Then the next Sprint immediately starts ๐จ.
The Scrum Guide calls the Sprint the โheart ๐ of Scrum.โ

The purpose of a Sprint is to create a potentially releasable product Increment ๐ฆ of value to the organization ๐ข.
What value ๐ต is to be delivered is guided ๐ฆฎ by the Sprint Goal, ๐ฐ๐ก๐ข๐๐ก ๐๐จ๐๐ฌ ๐ง๐จ๐ญ โ ๐๐ก๐๐ง๐ ๐ during the Sprint.

They can set aside distractions ๐ฅณ not related to this purpose.
They can take the new information they have uncovered and adapt ๐ their plan without losing focus.

This consistent cadence helps a Scrum Team understand ๐ง what they are capable of delivering in a period of time.
As a Scrum Team understands this and continues to work together, they can better forecast ๐ฎ delivery expectations.

A Scrum Team can change the length of a Sprint, but they donโt change it constantly.
Then they learn ๐ฉโ๐ซ and settle into a new cadence.

This gives the business control ๐ฎ without creating an unstable situation for the Development Team.

A Sprint limits the impact of failure to the time box of the Sprint.
